Knit patterns

Hats, gloves, vests and cardigans – the book Sticka Mönster (Knit Patterns) by Ann-Mari Nilsson is a treasure chest of patterns to explore.

The book contains three different techniques of how to knit patterns ranging from easy to more difficult: surface patterns, patterns with raised purl stitches and classical pattern knitting. All the patterns are shown in clear photographs and accompanied by easy-to-follow knitting diagrams. The book also contains knitting descriptions of basic models. You can knit vests, cardigans, hats or gloves with the patterns you like best. The book contains 48 patterns with purl stitches, 24 versions of surface patterns, about 15 patterns using classic knitting, knitting descriptions of basic models and 30 knitted garments to inspire you.

Ann-Mari Nilsson trained as an industrial designer at Beckmans College of Design and is one of Sweden’s best-known textile designers. After having interned with Katja of Sweden, in 1967 Ann-Mari became the first designer for Marc O’Polo. This was celebrated in 2017 when the company had its 50th anniversary. An anniversary book was produced and some of Ann-Mari’s models from the first collection will be brought back into production. Sticka Mönster is Ann-Mari Nilsson’s third knitting book for the publishers Hemslöjdens förlag. In Japan she is a knitting star and appears not only via her books but also in TV programmes and exhibitions.
