MaDe – Material Designers

Form/Design Center är av nio partners i det internationella projektet MaDe som vill lyfta innovationskraften hos materialdriven design. Projektet drivs av organisationerna Elisava, Ma-tt-er och Politecnico di Milano och finansieras av Creative Europe.

Under 2019 kommer MaDe att genomföra sex workshops i tre stora europeiska städer. Två i Milano, två i Barcelona och två i London, med totalt 120 deltagare. 18 finalister kommer få möjligheten att medverka i några av världens främsta designfestivaler; Milano Design Week, Barcelona Design Week och London Design Festival 2020. Tre vinnare utses och erbjuds en tremånaders praktikplats som kommer att kickstarta deras karriärer.

Inom ramen för projektet är Form/Design Center partner för en workshop som genomförs på London Design Museum 16–20 september 2019. 10 designers från regionen kommer att få möjlighet att delta i workshopen genom en open call senare i vår.

MaDe

MaDe is a competition, event series and platform devoted to realizing the positive impact material designers can have across all creative sectors.

MaDe is funded by Creative Europe which aims at boosting talents towards circular economies across Europe.

Material Designers are agents of change. They can design, redesign, reform, reuse and redefine materials giving them an entirely new purpose. Increasing the potential of materials they can go on to research, advise, educate and communicate what materials are and can be in the immediate, near and far future. These actions have the ability to implement positive social, economical, political and environmental change across al sectors, towards a more responsibly designed future.

Throughout 2019 MaDe will be hosting six workshops in three major cities. Two in Milan, two in Barcelona and two in London, including a total of 120 participants.

A shortlist of eighteen finalists will have the unique opportunity to be exhibited in some of the most world renowned design weeks and design festivals; Milan Design Week, Barcelona Design Week and London Design Festival in the year 2020.

Three of the eighteen shortlisted participants will be awarded the opportunity to undertake a three month material design paid placement within the industry to kickstart their careers as agents of change; MaDe (Material Designers).
