In this conversation, Jane Rendell will discuss the development of her place-writing practice over the past 20 years based on the text 'Undoing Architecture' from 1998. The lecture will focus on core concepts such as situation, relationship and positionality, shaped by feminist writers such as Gloria Anzaldua, Donna Haraway and Bell Hooks. Jane Rendell is Professor of Critical Spatial Practice at the Bartlett School of Architecture, UCL. She has introduced the concepts of “critical spatial practice” and “place writing” with the books: The Architecture of Psychoanalysis (2017), Silver (2016), Site-Writing (2010), Art and Architecture (2006) and The Pursuit of Pleasure (2002) .
