During the evening, the new VÄV Bookazine will be presented by editor-in-chief Tina Ignell. Formerly published as VÄVmagasinet with four issues per year, the magazine has been given a new format and is now published as an annual bookazine with more content and room for in-depth features. The first issue explores rugs as its theme and includes portraits of well-known weavers, new rugs with weaving instructions and historical perspectives.
The evening continues with a lecture by Marie Rolander, who designs and weaves unique rag rugs in Ranseröd in northern Skåne. Marie has worked with weaving at various folk high schools for forty years and has taught on the two-year textile programme at Glimåkra Folk High School for the past 25 years. She is a regular contributor to VÄVmagasinet and has contributed to several books on rag rugs. During the lecture, she will talk about inspiration, design, dyeing and weaving, as well as the process behind her rag rugs.
