What’s your name?
The creative collective Forma.

Where were you born?
Afghanistan, Denmark, Eritrea, Iraq, Iran, Kyrgyzstan, Somalia, the UK, Sweden, Syria, Uganda, the USA, Yemen.

How old are you?
Our members are between 15 and 55 years old.

Where do you live?
Most members of Forma live in Malmö or Lund.

Education?
A wide mixture of education is represented, including design, glassblowing, crafts, urban design, landscape architecture, music and human ecology, to name a few.

What do you do?
Creating collective artworks whose strength is diversity.

Your favourite place?
In Forma we love to go off and do projects in other locations. A few of our favourite places are Wettershus on the shore of Lake Vättern, the forest outside Unnaryd, and Kullaberg Nature Reserve.

Favourite material?
Wood and textiles.

Favourite designers?
Ai Weiwei is a great source of inspiration for Forma.

Favourite colour?
A mix of colours.

What inspires you?
People, cooking and music.

Your vision/business idea?
To use crafts, art and creativity to promote integration, encounters and a society with more fellow feeling.

Biggest mistake?
Ha ha, that we ever started the crazy and foolhardy project to create an installation of 17,000 unique artworks. It has been a huge challenge and we have gone just beyond what our organisation can cope with. But now afterwards, we are very proud and pleased that we have succeeded in accomplishing the artwork 17,000.

Dream project?
Creating permanent public artworks for public urban spaces.

Next project?
Forma has begun an interesting collaboration with Kullaberg Nature Reserve to create a series of artworks inspired by the region’s nature. The project will be finished at the end of summer 2019. You are welcome to come by then!

The Designer of the Month is a series of portraits intended to showcase local talents with links to the Öresund region and also to present an expanded view of design as a concept. It could be an individual designer, a group, or a manufacturer. The list of design areas is long and includes everything from furniture design, industrial design and architecture to fashion, illustration, the moving image etc.
