What is your name?
Elin Forslund.

Where were you born?
Stockholm.

Where do you live?
On Vesterbro in Copenhagen.

Education?
A Bachelor’s in glass design from The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, School of Design on Bornholm, and a Master’s in Product Design from the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, School of Design in Copenhagen.

What do you work with?
I work sculpturally with sandcast glass, which I combine with various materials such as plastic, metal and textiles. Glass is my passion and cast glass is my speciality, in both large and small formats.

Favorite places?
My workshop, Copenhagen, Österlen and Västergötland.

Favorite materials?
I am a materials nerd who falls in love with various materials. I connect with them and integrate them with other materials that I have come to love. The materials can be plastic, sheet metal, round rods, aluminium, glass, textile threads in glass, screenprinting, Plexiglas, wood, gilding etc.

Favorite designers?
Hannelore Dreutler, Michael Taylor and Daniel Buren.

Favorite colour?
Yellow, orange, turquoise and green.

What inspires you?
Material, organic shapes, patterns and structures.

Your vision/business concept?
To renew and develop initiated products and create new forms of expression for future public art commissions.

Dream project?
To have the opportunity to do an outdoors project at Wanås Castle and to decorate the children’s wards in Sweden’s hospitals.

Next project?
A solo exhibition in Lund and developing moths and hawk moths.
