FORM + FURA is a project initiated by SPOK Jönköping County, in which the designers Jonas Forsman, Rebecka Franzén and Mikaela Falk, together with the cabinetmaker Fredrik Ireklint, explored the possibilities of locally sourced pine timber. Starting from raw material that grew in the immediate vicinity of the workshop at Eckersholm farm outside Vaggeryd, the participants developed furniture and prototypes where the entire process – from forest to finished object – was present.

Through work that spanned several in-person meetings, the project examined how traditional craftsmanship could meet contemporary design. Here, the material’s properties and origin became an active part of the design process, and production was shaped by an awareness of resources, methods, and sustainability.

The result is a collection of functional and sensory objects that reflect a practice centered on local collaboration. FORM + FURA demonstrates how design processes can be rooted in a specific place while also contributing to new ways of thinking about production, consumption, and value creation.
