The Architecture Day 2026
The Architecture Day 2026 is a meeting place for those who refuse to let our shared spaces be pulled apart. As conversations become increasingly digital and fragmented, physical space remains the one arena where we are compelled to navigate the world together. Alongside leading international and national guests, we explore how designed living environments can open up closed spaces, shift the balance of power and weave fragmented environments back together.
Drawing on the exhibitions Cultures of Assembly and Aga Khan Award for Architecture, as well as the City of Malmö’s contribution to Malmö in the making, we move across the full geographical spectrum – from the vibrant hubs of the city to the specific challenges of rural areas. We demonstrate how strategic design can give citizens a voice and a meaningful place within society.
Throughout the day, we will also celebrate the projects and people leading the way forward, with the presentation of Skånes arkitekturpris and a brand-new, forward-looking award from Urban Academy.
Welcome to a day that does not shy away from the seriousness of the challenges we face, but above all celebrates architecture’s unique potential to draw the contours of a more equitable society.
