Together with Angelica Åkerman (architect, curator and Head of Strategic Development in Architecture at Form/Design Center), Lotta Hansson (communications officer and coordinator of study visits at the City of Malmö) and Malmö City Planning Office, we explore Malmö’s development and contemporary architecture. Through the exhibitions Malmö in the Making and Imperfect Assemblies, you will learn how the city has grown and changed, while exploring how architecture and urban development can contribute to participation, dialogue and a more democratic society.
Malmö in the Making
Using the new 3D model of Malmö as a starting point, you will gain a unique overview of how the city has grown, changed and taken on new functions over the years. We look at the major transformations that have shaped Malmö and the urban development taking place today. See where new neighbourhoods are emerging, how former industrial areas are being transformed and how different parts of the city are becoming more closely connected. The tour touches on housing, mobility, green spaces, climate adaptation and sustainable urban development – ideal for anyone who wants to understand both how Malmö has evolved into the city it is today and where it is heading.

Imperfect Assemblies
Taking Cultures of Assembly’s exhibition Imperfect Assemblies as a starting point, we explore how architecture and urban development can contribute to a more democratic society. The exhibition combines a spatial installation with conversations about how our shared spaces can strengthen dialogue, participation and collective responsibility.
