Since 2024, the City of Helsingborg has presented an annual urban development award recognizing outstanding projects in the city. The award aims to inspire and encourage Helsingborg residents, developers, and architects to create projects that demonstrate high architectural quality and sustainability – contributing to a well-designed Helsingborg – while raising awareness and encouraging dialogue about how we want our city to develop.
During the event at Dunkers Kulturhus in Helsingborg, this year's five finalists will be presented:
- Brf Kristinehall, Centrum
- Fastigheten Norge 2, Söder
- Logistikposition Ramlösa Hus C, Långeberga
- Brf Pålsjöängar, Pålsjö
- Laröds IP, Laröd
The award is a collaboration between the City of Helsingborg and Form/Design Center, initiated in 2025. The partnership strengthens the development of high-quality living environments in northwestern Skåne and provides a platform for discussion, learning, and the development of sustainable, inclusive, and attractive environments. The initiative is carried out in collaboration with the Knowledge Forum for Designed Living Environments, based at Form/Design Center in Malmö and supported by Region Skåne.

ABOUT THE HELSINGBORG CITY BUILDING AWARD
The award focuses on a place or building and encompasses a wide range of projects, including new construction, landscape design on privately owned land, and renovation. Both large and small projects that enrich Helsingborg and contribute to the city's built environment are eligible. Projects carried out by the City of Helsingborg cannot be nominated. The award may be presented within three years of a project's completion. In addition to the main award, honorable mentions may be given.
Anyone can nominate a project during the nomination period. The jury then evaluates all nominations based in part on the principles outlined in the city's architectural framework: Architectural Concept, People at the Center, Sensory Experience and Beauty, Context, and Durability and Sustainability.
The jury consists of the Director of Urban Planning, City Architect, City Gardener, City Antiquarian, and the Chair and Vice Chair of the Urban Planning Committee.
