Sara Sheikh Akbari is an associate at Zaha Hadid Architects involved in various projects such as the recently completed Heydar Aliyev centre in Azerbaijan, Baku. Her lecture will focus on the process and complexities undertaken from concept to construction on avant-garde architecture.
The rapid development of digital technologies has been closely linked to the process of design and manufacturing, having a profound influence on the architectural discourse over the past decades. This has provided the opportunity for a close collaboration between the architecture and built environment through systematic workflows, resulting in the realization of some of the most ground-breaking designs of our era. The complexities and challenges that come with the current architectural projects and assess the role of the architect in these processes will be examined.
The lecture will be held in English.
