The Helsingborg City Building Award aims to encourage the people of Helsingborg, developers, and architects to create environments with high architectural quality and sustainability, and to inspire engagement and dialogue about how we shape the city of the future together.

This year’s four finalists are:

  • Brf Mariatorget
  • Å-bryggan i Råå hamn
  • Nederman huvudkontor
  • Brf Havsbrisen

The award marks the first step in a new collaboration between the City of Helsingborg and Form/Design Center, initiated in 2025. The collaboration aims to strengthen the development of the designed living environment in northwestern Skåne. Through joint efforts, a platform is being created for discussion, learning, and development that contributes to sustainable, inclusive, and attractive environments where people can live, work, and meet.

This takes place in collaboration with the Knowledge Center for Designed Living Environment, established by Region Skåne and since 2023 hosted by Form/Design Center in Malmö. The Knowledge Center strengthens the region’s expertise and cooperation in the planning, design, and development of our living environments.

OM HELSINGBORGS STADSBYGGNADSPRIS

The Helsingborg City Building Award focuses on places and buildings that enrich the city’s design — from new construction to landscape spaces and renovation. Projects carried out by the city itself cannot be nominated, and the award may be given within three years of a project’s completion.

In addition to the main award, honorary mentions may also be presented. The jury evaluates the projects based on the city’s architectural tools:

  • Architectural concept
  • Human-centered design
  • Sensory experience and beauty
  • Context
  • Durability and sustainability

The jury consists of the Director of Urban Development, the City Architect, the City Gardener, the City Antiquarian, and the Chair and Vice Chair of the Urban Development Committee.
