We visit Varvsstaden’s oldest building—an industrial ruin that has undergone a careful yet radical transformation. Snickeriet is praised by the jury for its consistent approach to sustainability and a spectacular half-metre elevation to address future flood risks.

During the visit, we see how reuse has become a central part of the design: how bricks from demolished interior walls form tactile entrance floors, and how new layers of glass and steel meet the existing materials with surgical precision. It is a conversation about preserving the soul of a building while creating a modern, flexible office where history is constantly present.
