Malmö möts is the City of Malmö’s major democracy initiative, featuring more than 250 programme events where the city comes together to focus on democracy and explore the future. The programme combines talks and knowledge-sharing with experiences that move, engage, and invite both laughter and reflection, through encounters taking place across the city and welcoming more people to take part.
Together with Malmö in the Making/City Planning Office (City of Malmö) and Urban Academy, Form/Design Center is presenting an exhibition at Demokratitorget, Malmö Live, 15–17 June. The exhibition brings together examples of how dialogue, co-creation, and urban development can help shape the future of Malmö — highlighting initiatives such as Min plats (My Place), citizen dialogue and consultation processes, as well as the work on Malmö’s Comprehensive Plan. At the centre of the exhibition is a 9-square-metre model of Malmö, serving as a pedagogical hub to visualise the city’s development and invite conversations about how we collectively shape our shared living environment. In connection with the exhibition, lectures and panel discussions with invited guests will also take place.
Several exhibitions at Form/Design Center are also part of the Malmö Möts programme: The Choreography of Democracy, which explores the physical forms and symbols of democracy; TRIBUN by Studio PANK — an installation in Hedmanska gården about voice and public space — and PrintPower Award, presenting posters by design students from across Sweden interpreting the theme “For Sweden in Our Time.”
