The NH(O)RM brand was founded in 2011 by Mathilda Nilsson and Hanna Rudebeck as an artistic project alongside their studies at the Swedish School of Textiles at the University of Borås.

After several collections and presentations in Stockholm, mainly as part of the fashion platform “Amaze Sthlm” and most recently during Stockholm Fashion Week, the duo have been based in Malmö for the past year.

With a design process that occurs in the dialogue with and contrast between the two designers, and which takes as its starting point the deconstruction and reworking of classical garment types and techniques, Nilsson and Rudebeck focus their work on the actual product design. Values such as handcrafting, wearability and a combined idea of individuality and trend permeate their work.

At Form/Design Center they present selections from their own archive in an extension of an ongoing project on Instagram under the hashtag #nhormarchive. The aim is to shed new light on older collections, ideas and visual materials that are still topical and that are continually being taken up again, reworked, and gaining new life in NH(O)RM’s design DNA.

NH(O)RM recently received the Malmö prize in the Fashion category awarded by the young adult monthly magazine Nöjesguiden.

Where do you live?
Malmö

What do you do?
We co-own the brand NH(O)RM. We also work extra as designers: Mathilda at Polar Skate Co. and Hanna at Tres Bien, both Malmö-based clothing brands.

Your favourite place?
Mathilda: Åhus
Hanna: My bed

Favourite material?
For us it can never be a material, but always several in combination. A mixture of high and low quality and forms of expression.

Favourite colour?
Brown

Favourite designers?
Raf Simons and Phoebe Philo

What inspires you?
Skewed and unpredictable combinations

Biggest mistake?
We worked too much, slept too little and quarrelled.

Dream project?
NH(O)RM with unlimited resources in terms of knowledge, time and money. Think Raf Simons at Dior...

Next project?
We’re working on our next collection, NH(O)RM Spring/Summer 2019, which will be ready in August this year. We’re also working on starting up the sales side of the business, and in relation to that we’re developing a production process that corresponds to the garments’ aesthetic style and handcraft-like quality.
