By creating an international platform where small actors can be seen on the same terms as the big ones, the festival contributes to broadening the perception of what Swedish design is. Designers, architects, academia and research as well as the public sector and various organisations open up the dialogue on the issues of the future with a wide audience. Southern Sweden Design Days is open to visitors of all ages and is aimed at a broad public as well as professional visitors. Both national and international actors are welcome to participate.

To turn the global challenges around, we need to think new, dare to explore and challenge our ways of life. Design is a powerful tool for creating change in society, but to succeed we all need to collaborate across borders, says Terese Alstin, responsible for strategic development of the design industry, Form/Design Center.

Expect everything from artistically forward-looking features to projects where leftover industrial materials are given new life. Galleries, shops, showrooms and designers' workspaces are opened to visitors, sometimes even their homes.

Southern Sweden Design Days 2023 was a success with a solid program of approx. 160 program activities and over 450 content creators. During the four festival days, the event had about 30,000 visits, an increase of about 30% compared to last year's 21,250 visits, says Ann Isler, project manager Southern Sweden Design Days, Form/Design Center.
