On 23 February a new edition will begin of Utvalt – konsthantverk, slöjd och form i Skåne (Selected – Crafts and Design in Skåne) – a juried travelling exhibition and inspirational platform with a focus on hand-made crafts – here and now! We will then invite you to an inspirational lecture and panel debate on the theme of “What inspires you?” There will also be information about Utvalt – how to enter, who can enter, when and how. The event is being organised by Form/Design Center in cooperation with the Handicraft Association of Scania and the Crafts Center/Konsthantverkscentrum.

LECTURE: Drive certainty before you
Annika Wahlström is an artist who uses embroidery as her main form of expression. Using thread, fabric, time and texts, she plays with the feeling of information and communication. She has a background in handicrafts and a master’s degree from the University of Gothenburg’s Academy of Design and Crafts at Steneby. She now lives and works in Dals Långed.

PANEL DEBATE: What inspires you?
Participants: Sophia Lithell, designer; Maria E Harrysson, artisan and artist; Lisa Hilland, designer; Krister Nilsson, ceramic artist.
How can we combine inspired creativity with working to earn a living? How can we convert our inspiration into actual creativity in products or projects? How can we remain unique in a world where everything is accessible and trends rotate faster and faster?
