Utvalt i Syd: Crafts and creation with meetings in focus

THREE INSPIRING LECTURES ON CRAFTS AND CREATION WITH MEETINGS IN FOCUS.

Utvalt i Skåne (Selected in Skåne) will be Utvalt i Syd (Selected in the South) in 2021. After Selected in Skåne's two successful rounds, 2015 and 2018, the project this time addresses the applicant who is connected to all southern counties: Skåne, Blekinge, Halland, Kronoberg, Kalmar and Jönköping counties. An exciting expansion with the aim of promoting the development of the handmade mold in today's mold area throughout southern Sweden.

Lectures on the theme Tradition and renewal - meetings:

Silversmithing for Roma youth
- a collaboration between Romska Kulturcentret in Malmö and Skånes Hemslöjdsförbund.
Lecture and conversation between Erland Kaldaras - Romska Kulturcentret in Malmö, Annhelén Olsson - operations manager Skånes Hemslöjdsförbund and Louise Vitas - silversmith, and Martin Kaldaras and Kevin Resblom who participate in the project.

Sustainable traditions and new forms of creation
- how it has been and what can happen.Lecture by Johanna Rosenqvist, guest professor in the theory and history of arts and crafts at Konstfack and teacher at Linnaeus University.

Spontaneous design
– spontaneous design and traditional craft = Pilglas
Lecture by Yuki Tango, designer and Jonas Larsen, designer and artist who together participated in Utvalt i Skåne 2018 with their project Pilglas. In 2019, they received Region Skåne's design scholarship and during the year they began a collaboration with the fashion brand Tiger of Sweden.
